Morning Preparations
The day begins early at 6:00 AM when my morning alarm signals the start of another busy day in HVAC service. After a quick breakfast and coffee, I head to our Oakmont Mechanical headquarters to receive the day’s service assignments and check my work van’s inventory.
First Service Call
By 7:30 AM, I’m on the road heading to our first appointment. Today’s schedule includes:
– Routine maintenance for a commercial building’s heating system
– Two residential AC diagnostic calls
– One new thermostat installation
Mid-Day Operations
The morning flies by as I complete preventive maintenance tasks, including:
– Filter replacements
– System performance testing
– Cleaning condenser coils
– Checking refrigerant levels
Lunch break comes around noon, but today’s schedule is packed, so I take a quick break in between calls.
Afternoon Challenges
The afternoon brings more technical challenges, including troubleshooting a complex cooling system issue. This is where our ongoing training at Oakmont Mechanical proves invaluable, allowing us to diagnose and resolve problems efficiently.
End of Day
As 5:00 PM approaches, I complete my final service call, update customer service records, and ensure my van is restocked for tomorrow. The satisfaction of helping customers maintain comfortable environments makes every busy day worthwhile.
Working in HVAC requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and dedication to customer service – all core values that make each day at Oakmont Mechanical both challenging and rewarding.
